The author, one of those tireless English Victorian antiquaries, collected these epitaphs himself. This edition was completely reworked, with much new material and a number of illustrations (but, alas!, he dropped the bibliography!). Hardcover. 6"x9", 241 pages, b/w and line illustrations. Original red pebbled cloth. Some light wear to the covers and a bit of internal spotting on the endpapers.
