Doyle, A. Conan, Illustrated by Sidney Paget
THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES, Another Adventure of Sherlock Holmes

: TorontoToronto: George N. Morang & Co. Ltd. 1902, . . , , Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. 1st Canadian edition. Duodecimo--from 5?" to 7?" tall. Published the same year as the first U.K. edition (Newnes) and the first U.S. edition (McClure, Phillips), the Morang issue is considerably scarcer than either, and seldom found in any condition. Telling the story of a demonic beast terrorising the moors and apparently hell-bent on destroying the bloodline of the Baskervilles, this is considered by many Holmes fans to be the best and most eerie of the great detective's adventures. Red cloth w/white lettering/cameo to front cover, white spine lettering, 249 pages + 8 pages of advertisements for other Morang titles, twelve illustrations by Sidney Paget. Strong spine slant, spine lettering faded to near illegibility, worn corners/spine ends, some moderate cover soil, soiled edges, previous owner's name in pencil to front free end paper, again in ink to half-title, some light foxing, light internal soil, general reading wear.; . , , , .
