Woolrich, Cornell
The Black Path of Fear
: Ace H-66, 1968, . . , , Paperback. About Very Good. Originally published in 1944. A reviewer for the Springfield Republican is quoted on back cover as finding this one "a grim and thrilling tale of atmosphere and mordant character portraiture, laced with desperate action and suspense, crowned with vengeance." Yup. Sounds like Cornell Woolrich, all right. If you haven't read him, whether as Woolrich or William Irish or George Hopley, do yourself a favour and check him out. As I do, you will surely wish he hadn't died a lonely alcoholic whose funeral was unattended. 190 pages. Spine slant, reading crease to left edge of front cover, light handling wear, two faint grey remainder stripes to top edge. Internally tight and clean.; . , , , .
