Popula Image Manager Help
The Popula Image Manager makes it easy to upload and store pictures for your Popula auctions.
Every registered Populist is automatically allocated 5MB of free space for picture files on the Popula server -- a personal Popula Image Bank. You can upload any picture on your hard drive to your Popula Image Bank with a few mouse clicks and select it when you put an item up for auction. After you no longer need the picture, you can delete it from your Popula Image Bank to free up space for new pictures.

1. To Store a Picture in your Popula Image Bank:
Store the picture file (either .GIF or .JPG only, please) on your hard drive and note the directory where it is stored. For faster loading in auctions, we recommend that each picture be no larger than 40K. The Image Manager will summarily reject any file larger than 100K.
Click on the button which says "Click Here To Add An Image".
Click the Browse button. This allows you to look through your computer's disk drives, as in any Windows application.
Find the directory on your drive where the .JPG or .GIF file is stored.
In the "Files of type" box, make sure to select "All Files".
Double click the picture file you want to upload.
Click OK to upload.
This will cause the picture to appear in your Popula Image Bank as a thumbnail. To see it in actual size, click the thumbnail.

2. To use a picture from your Popula Image Bank in an auction:
As long as you have any pictures in your Popula Image Bank, when you list an item for auction you will automatically be offered a drop-down menu from which to select your picture.
To select a picture, double-click its file name in the drop-down menu.
After you click Review to go to the next page, you can check to see that you loaded the correct picture by clicking on the URL of the picture. This will open the picture in a separate frame on your browser.
If you're using List-o-Mat, put the URL of the picture in the Picture URL box of the input form. (To get the URL, see below).

3. To delete a picture from your Popula Image Bank:
Click on the thumbnail. An actual size picture will open.
Above the picture are the words "Delete Image?"
Below the picture, where it says "Yes/No", click Yes to delete the image from your Popula Image Bank.
If you'd like to do multiple deletions at a time, just check the Delete Me! box next to the thumbnail of each picture you want to delete and then click the box at the bottom of the page (where it says: Delete Checked Pics, Please!).

4. To get the URL of your image, in case you'd like to link to it from another location:
Click the thumbnail to get an enlarged picture.
Right-click the picture and select "Copy Image Location"
This copies the URL onto your clipboard. You can then paste it wherever you wish (into a document, form or browser window, for example).
